This is the icing for the Vanilla-Fudge Marble Cake Vanilla-Fudge Marble Cake. Don't have the golden syrup? Well if you must, you can try substituting it with 2 parts light corn syrup and 1 part molasses or equal parts of honey and light corn syrup.
- 1⁄2 cup semisweet chocolate piece
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon golden syrup
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
- Combine all ingredients together in a small saucepan.
- Heat over low heat, stirring until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth.
- Use immediately to top the Vanilla-Fudge Marble Cake recipe #45104.
This is soooo easy, not to mention excellent! I also used it to top the Fudge Marble cake and was thrilled with the result. My "Reason For Living" (RFL), who is NOT a big chocolate fan just loved it!!! I used the corn syrup and honey and as suggested by PKL in the previous review, increased it to 2 Tbsp of each ending up with the perfect consistency to drizzle and then to set up on the cake. Made this to top the Vanilla-Fudge Marble Cake, and it was very good. I used one Tbsp. each of corn syrup and honey which, for me, made the perfect consistency. I will use this again. Thanks!
