My son has been making these to take to work for his lunch. We got to try his second batch to which he added almonds, cashews and chia seed to your original posted recipe. Australian desicated coconut is unsweetened, so we thought them not too sweet at all. Only complaint is it's hard to stop eating them.
Yum I love this slice!! So easy and tastes so good! Healthy too! Better than a slice of cake or biscuit. Lasts hubby and I all week for our lunch
To die for! My 5yo daughter said "it's as good as lollies!". 'Nuff said.
Thanks for the recipe... as someone said before I also found it a little sweet. Next time will try a little less sugar. I also toasted all the ingredients separately so nothing got burnt.. and soaked the sultanas in hot water first to plump them up and leach out any sulphides. Can't wait to experiment with different combinations of things - the measurements were all perfect! Definitely a keeper!
This is a great recipe, I've changed it slightly to suit DH and kids. Mainly by adding more fruits and less seeds. I'm looking to find a way that they stick better together and do not always have to be stored in the fridge. That's a work in progress. But all in all, a great recipe and thanks!
Great! I love taking this for a snack for working. Better then getting into a bag of chips or some chocolate. If you dont want to use butter try some coconut oil. I would try around 1/4 cup of coconut oil. Also forego putting in the actual coconut. Otherwise it will be very sweet. Great recipe thanks!
I'm normally a fan of sweet things but I thought it was way too sweet. It was fairly idiot proof though. Perhaps it might be better if the sugar or honey content was decreased.
Yummy! A hit with everyone who tried it. I would like to find out suggestions to cut the butter out of this recipe, maybe an alternative ingredient? Thanks for sharing this great recipe!
I made this and my hubby took one look at it and said " So now you're trying to feed me bird seed?!" And guess who nearly ate the whole slice then?! Its delicious and really easy to make. And the whole family loves it!!
I made this yesterday and cut it into bite size pieces. It is so delicious that I can't walk past the fridge without grabbing a piece!! My fussy 7 year old even loved it, so it will be a welcome addition to her lunchbox , if I'm ever willing to share!!
