I made it with lean ground beef. The meat and veggie mixture is so good. The seasonings are perfect. I used Merlot red wine. I didn't use the eggs in the potatoes. My son ate this for his lunch at school and he loved this. He said it's worth 10 stars. Of course, he add ketchup on top. Thanks AlmightyMooX :) Made for the Best of 2011 tag game

This has become my go to recipe for Shepherds pie. I used ground meat and added frozen peas to the pie at the end before baking. I also used some Tony's brown gravy mix sprinkled on to thicken and season the gravey. It is unusual that I find a recipe that I don't add a lot of seasoning to, this was one. The seasoning was very good, even for this spicy family. The wine gave it a fantastic flavor that was missing from what I had made before. This was wonderful, and I will be making it often. Great Recipe.

Thanks to pick a chef I found this recipe to try~~

For my DH who loves Shepherd's Pie this one is on his top of his list! There are not a lot of spices in this one but yet you don't miss them.
As for making it I so enjoyed how easy it was. I chose to add pees & Corn to our dish.
