  • Brown ground beef and onion in pan over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Drain. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Add Nature's Seasons seasoning blend and oregano to ground beef. Let simmer over medium heat, add tomato sauce, simmer on medium low until the moisture is absorbed and no longer saucy. While the meat sauce is simmering toast English muffins.
  • Place 1 or 2 heaping tablespoons of meat mixture over toasted English muffin halves and top with a slice of American cheese.
  • Or you can put the cheese in between layers of meat so the cheese will not stick to the roof of your mouth.
  • Place on a cookie sheet and bake in oven until cheese is melted. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
  • NO Substitutions or it will not taste as it should.

  1. This is pretty good stuff. Despite the cute name, this is basically sloppy joes on an english muffin and topped with a slice of melted cheese. The meat/sauce mixture is kind of mildly flavored, but still good. I made this pretty much as written, with about 1.5 lbs. of 90/10 ground sirloin, half a medium-sized white onion, and a can of store-brand tomato sauce (I couldn't find Hunt's in a 15 oz. can). You don't really need to bake them in a 350-degree oven. The cheese melts so quickly that I just stuck the scrumpchies in the oven as it was heating up, around 200 degrees, and took them out less than 2 minutes later. I had 4 at a time, for 3 consecutive dinners, and I still enjoyed them. (I cooked the meat mixture in advance and just assembled the final things each night.) Thanks, and I just might make these again soon!

I Love to cook just about anything. I am not much of a baker because we do not eat many sweets, but I will try new recipes from time to time. I have a small bread machine (west bend - Just for dinner) so I make fresh breads in that to go with our meals. My favorite things to cook are those that you can take something like steak,Pork, chicken, roast, turkey, ground beef, shrimp etc... and make it into a delicious meal.
