Well once I found a rutabaga, I made this for dinner when DD and SIL was over. Both DW and DD were OK with it but surprisingly SIL really liked this dish! Made just as stated for the 2010 football pool.

Really special mashed potatoes -- love the rutabaga. Made as written and served with Frikadellen (German Meat Patties), Sauted Mushrooms in Cream Sauce (German Style) and Ww Onion Gravy, Heavy on the Onions. Thanks for posting.

I've always like rutabaga and I had to try this recipe. I did half recipe. I steamed the potatoes and rutabaga and then mashed with unsalted butter and milk. I added fresh black pepper. Yum! Thanks Elaine :) Made for the Zwizzle Chicks of ZWT

I can't believe what we've been missing! The rutabaga adds so much to boring mashed potatoes. I also used your options of carrots and cabbage, and couldn't be happier with the color or flavor. I used Homemade Butter in the potatoes and then served them with Ww Onion Gravy, Heavy on the Onions. My toddler ate her whole plate of this dish & never knew she was eating all her veggies! ;) Thanks for posting ElaineAnn! Made & enjoyed for ZWT-6 Team Xtra Hot Dishes! :)

We would call this Neeps and Tatties and I make this very often at work, I add more rutabega so the amounts are equal almost and a bit less butter. Lots of fresh black pepper is a must. Made and reviewed for ZWT6
