Yes, these are delicious, and not what I expected. They are sort of dense and almost cookie-like. Not very sweet, with the raisins providing a lot of the sweetness. I do think I somewhat overdid it on the saffron, because I used ground saffron, not threads. I used a scant teaspoonful, but think that about 3/4 teaspoon would have been enough. The shaping seemed clear enough from the recipe, but as the buns rose they came apart. I need to think how to get the ends firmly attached. My yield was 16 buns at 65 to 70 grams each. Thank you very much for posting this recipe. I've had my eye on it for a while now.
