Like a Dutch baby or german pancake baked in the oven in an iron skillet. Topped with fruit and powdered sugar or brown sugar. I found this recipe in the newspaper 25 years ago and make it often, my family loves it. I put it under the broiler to brown on top, this is the best part.

Directions

  1. Melt butter in oven proof skillet on top of stove.
  2. Mix eggs, milk sugar, flour and salt with a whisk.
  3. Pour into buttered skillet.
  4. Bake in 425 degree oven for 20 minutes.

Melody,Thanks so much for this fun to make recipe,I had all 4 of the grandkids here for breakfast yesterday and we had a ball making this.We used powdered sugar and strawberries for the topping,and the kids really enjoyed making it,and they licked the platter clean!! I made this a few moments ago; I've been looking for something new and interesting for breakfast. It's really different. It's nicely sweet, remeniscent of egg custard, and great fun to watch baking. However, I think it should have baked a bit longer, at 20 minutes the center was just beginning to rise. Also, I think I'll try halfing the butter, and adding a bit of cinnamon. I will definitely make this again.
