A quick and easy cinnamon dusted, honey-sweetened treat.
- 3⁄4 cup half-and-half
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3 teaspoons honey or 3 teaspoons sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 4 tart apples, sliced
- Combine all ingredients.
- Pour sauce over apples; toss slightly.
- Refrigerate to chill.
- Sprinkle with additional cinnamon before servings, if desired.
This was sweet and wonderful but I made it with fat free half-and-half thinking the addition of lemon juice would turn it into buttermilk. It didn't. The half-and-half separated and, although it tasted fine, was just plain ugly. So make this with the real thing or skip the lemon juice.
