I've nerver heard my husband praise a meal as much as he did this one. We have eaten Scallop carbonara in the pastin a restaurant. but never heard him praise it as much. I was told that this is a must do recipe in the future.

Made this for Valentine's day. Fabulous! My first try at scallops in anything - and it turned out perfectly! Next night's leftovers and the kids nearly finished it all up...mushrooms, and all. That's saying a lot :)

I just made this dish for my wife and I. I have always been a lover of carbonara, and this is the best I have ever tasted!

Thank you so much!

This was a very tasty dish. We loved the bacon in it. I do think less bacon could be used but it was still wonderful. Thanks for posting this recipe.

I cooked this using the smaller bay scallops because that is what I had. I enjoyed this and will make it again, but next time I will use about half as much bacon and use the sea scallops. Thanks for posting this recipe KelBel.

I made this for the Fourth of July. Left out the red pepper, used sherry instead of red wine, penne pasta substitute and added 1 cup of frozen peas. I garnished it with grated parmesan and fresh tarragon. WOW!! As good as the fireworks.

This recipe was absolutely delicious! I am not one for bacon in pasta, but I loved this dish! The bacon paired nicely with the scallops. I left out the mushrooms because my husband doesn't like them, and I didn't have shallots so I just used regular yellow onions. I was extremely pleased with this meal, and will absolutely make it again! Thanks for sharing!

wow. This is definitely a keeper! I used 3/4 pound low sodium bacon, b/c that's what gives carbonara dishes their "kick," used shrimp AND scallops(breaded) and also used 3 onions(red onions) instead of scallops. I plan to cook this with shrimp next time (but will be careful, though, as shrimp is so easy to overcooked). I also dipped the seafood in milk then flour(with pepper) during the "dredging" stage of the recipe. In the future, I think fresh jumbo shrimp alone(rather than scallops) will work better. Make sure to thaw ahead of time, b/c water weeping can ruin the addition of the bacon fat's flavor to the meat, which is delightful in a carbonara dish.

Super easy to make. My son kept saying, "I smell something good!" while I was making it. Whole family loved it except for my picky eater daughter who always want her pasta plain. Even so, she finished 2/3 of her pasta in the bowl. I replaced red pepper with asperagus and used sake instead of white wine because I did't have those ingredients at home. Still tasty!
