We loved this recipe and enjoyed it as part of our Thanksgiving Menu! We didn't find the oysters mushy at all (we used the small grade oysters), but found them creamy, fresh and delicious! Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe. My family has asked that we include this in all of our future Thanksgiving Dinners!

Have been looking for a recipe like my grand daddy made, since its been misplaced and this is it almost to a tee! Absolutely awesome! This is a must have for my Thanksgiving and Christmas, it just don't get much better! I used 1/2 & 1/2 instead of milk but probably more buttered crackers, but that's from memory. SO glad I found this - thank you, thank you, thank you!

I can only give this recipe one star for ease of preparation. I made it exactly like the recipe except I left out the salt as I found the oysters and worchester sauce salty enough. It turned out very mushy. I should have eaten the oysters raw with a little horseradish and lemon juice. I certainly would have gotten my money's worth. I had to pick out the oysters and they were cooked to pieces and I had to dispose of most of the dish. I think a better way would be to make only one layer of oysters and bread crumbs over the top, leave out the cream. Sorry.

I love how cooking brings people together, whether it's sharing recipes or sharing a special meal. My sister and I love to talk recipes, and she is great at researching any recipe questions and hunting down recipes. My whole family enjoys cooking, so holidays are particularly fun when we're all cooking together. I teach social studies, and I incorporate historical recipes and foods into my lessons about culture. Cooking connects the past and present. I've realized how relaxing cooking is to me, so despite being very busy with teaching, I make time to cook.
