This brings out so much flavor for plain fish. I used regular basil. I omitted the salt. I used a mix of cheddar cheese and provolone cheese. It gave a great taste to the fish. I used dried parsley as I didn't have fresh. Thanks Kiwidutch :) Made for PRMR tag game

Absolutely delicious! I don't usually care much for fish but I just loved this. I used cheddar/jack cheese. The 30 minute cook time was perfect - the fish was light and the topping was outstanding. Such a simple to make yet delicious fish - thanks for sharing your recipe!

This was very good. I'm always looking for new ways to make tilapia and this was a winner. I did rub the fish with a bit of lemon juice before I covered it with the mixture. I also put it under the broiler the last 10 minutes for some added crispiness. Yum!

I made this just as the recipe said, and it was SENSATIONAL - the easiest thing I've cooked in a while and very, very tasty. It's going to be a regular in my house!

Incredibly easy and the fish cooked perfectly! We found the fish itself to be "fishier" than other recipes because the topping just sits on top and the fish itself is not prepared or seasoned at all - so next time we'll rub a lemon over it before putting it in the pan. I used cheddar cheese and panko, and fresh herbs. Based on a previous reviewer's comment that there was extra topping, I cut the butter, cheese and breadcrumb amounts in half but kept all other amounts the same for ONE POUND of tilapia - it worked perfectly. It would be fun to play with the spices but we loved it as is. Thanks for sharing!

We loved this! I used regular dried basil, plain dry breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese in the topping, along with tilapia. I think in the future I may cut the amount of topping in half because there was so much of it I probably could have covered another pound of fish. I do like a thick topping, but in the interest of losing weight... well, you know. This is so fancy tasting yet so easy to put together that it will definitely be gracing our plates again. Thanks kiwi!

There was something about this topping that struck me as a little off. I used Italian-flavored Panko bread crumbs, fresh basil instead of dried, and tilapia. I don't cook a lot of fish, so maybe I am just not a fan of tilapia. Thanks for sharing, though. Made for ZWT 3.

Delicious fish dish, I used Gurnard fillets. Served with mashed potatoes, steamed green beans and fresh cob of corn. Easy to put together and nice flavours, a keeper for sure.

I scaled this recipe back, using 2 fillets of tilapia. I used cheddar cheese and rye breadcrumbs, and used fresh basil. Lovely dish, different and good! Thank you Kiwi!

This is quite a tasty way of doing fish. I used a tasty cheddar cheese and of course the sort of cheese you use would alter the flavour. I found I only had to cook the fish for 20 mins, I suppose once again that would depend on the thickness of the fish fillets and they turned out nice and moist. I also used wholemeal breadcrumbs because that is all I had. Thanks for a nice recipe.
