Crunchy and savory, put this delicious 30-minute rice side on the table, any time of year. Sliced almonds add crunch and nuttiness, and Zatarain’s Chicken Flavor Rice makes this dish a festive companion to holiday feasts.

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 12 cup chopped onion
  • 1 (7 ounce) package ZATARAIN'S® Chicken Flavor Rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup frozen French-cut green beans
  • 1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • sliced almonds, toasted


  1. Melt butter in large skillet on medium heat. Add onion; cook and stir 2 minutes or until softened.
  2. Stir in Rice Mix and water. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 20 minutes. Stir in green beans and mushrooms. Cover and cook 5 minutes longer or until rice is tender. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving. Sprinkle with almonds, if desired.
