Yummy french toast. Served with ice cream and or fruit sauces. The recipe comes from The old Tahoe Cafe and KCRA TV.
- 7 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 dash nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 orange, zest of
- Blend all Ingredients (EXCEPT Bread), Preferably in a blender or a stick mixer.
- Dip bread in batter and fry until golden brown on each side.
- If you wish, top with Vanilla Ice Cream and your choice of Fruit Sauces.
This was a delicious recipe for French Toast. A little bit eggier and a nice hint of orange to make it special - very nice. I used challah bread and halved the recipe - the half batch of batter was enough for about 14 slices of challah. A good choice for overnight guests as this was fast, economical, yet a litle more special than ordinary French Toast. Thanks for sharing!
