I've not tried this. It does not call for any other liquid other than the melted butter. I might try using chopped fresh sage and saute it in the butter with the onions.
- 2⁄3 cup butter
- 1⁄2 cup minced onion
- 2 1⁄2 quarts soft bread cubes
- 2 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 2 1⁄2 teaspoons ground sage
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
- Melt butter in a skillet, add onion and cook until transparent.
- Add bread cubes and seasonings.
- Stir and heat until cubes are slightly brown.
