Great recipe. I used reconstituted dried chickpeas (it's SO worth the time involved) and canned tomatoes. I used closer to a tablespoon of the garam masala, added a teaspoon of cumin and used dried chili flakes instead of fresh chili pepper. I had no bay leaves or coriander, but the bones of the ingredients worked really well. The second time I made this, I forgot the lemon juice. It makes a BIG difference. I'll definitely use the lemon juice next time.
