Sauteed Strawberries With a Twist

This is a little unusual - fresh strawberries cooked briefly with cinnamon and lime. From my local newspaper. It is excellent on vanilla ice cream, or try in strawberry shortcake, or layer with pound cake and vanilla pudding for trifle desserts.

Turned these into strawberry shortcake. I thinks these would be good served warm or cold. We served them warm this time, sprinkled with a little bit of powdered sugar. I will make this recipe again, as 3/4 of the family really loved it, and 1/4 ate it with minimal complaints. Thanks for sharing!

  1. Combine brown sugar, butter, lime juice, and cinnamon in a skillet and cook over medium low heat until bubbling.
  2. Add strawberries and cook for about 2 more minutes.
