Sauteed Spinach with Garlic

"This is so good, and easy. Any greens would do, but spinach is my favourite. My grandmother used escarole and my mother uses swiss chard."

  1. Perfection on a plate. I could of easily eaten the whole thing myself, but held off. Healthy, lovely, and easy to make, plus! the presentation is just like a photo! Stunning....and the taste, well....you need to check this out for yourself. I wilted my fresh spinach, added the fresh garlic, a sprinkle of coarse sea salt granules, and the rest....history. 2. I'm not a huge fan of spinach, but I had to try this recipe. It was really good and so simple to make. I bought a bag of spinach, gave it a quick rinse, and started cooking. Done this way, I would say that this recipe takes even less time than Penny! lists. This is an easy recipe that I will definetely use again. Thanks!

  3. This is the only way I make spinach! Love the spice the red pepper flakes adds to it. I also added some minced onion. YUM!!!

  4. This was really yummy. I had a tablespoon of minced onion that I added to the garlic. Also, I used bacon grease instead of olive oil. At the end I used sea salt to sprinkle on top. This was really delicious. Thanks.

  5. This was fantastic, even my son's friend loved it and he absolutely hates spinach. I served this with my shrimp scampi and it all disappeared.

I'm a writer, a retired accountant, a wife, grandmother, a gardener, a cook, a bird watcher, a sky watcher, a lover of the ocean, a walker, and a life long resident of Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island. It's a big city now, with all the big city advantages and disadvantages. I miss the small town feel but love the restaurant choices and the people friendly improvements. My writing is mainly non fiction on historical bits, and I have brief and so far unsuccessful forays into historical fiction. Someday..... I don't think I'm a great cook but I'm the kind of cook who can walk into the kitchen and find good things in the fridge and pantry and make it into a meal that everyone thinks is pretty darn good. Sometimes I use a recipe and sometimes...not so much. I have a great collection of cookbooks, and I love reading them and studying the pictures. Sometimes I even cook the recipes, LOL! And that is why I love Zaar, an unending source of recipes and pictures.
