Simple, yet elegant & tasty. I enjoyed this dressed up version of ordinary peas - the mushrooms and garlic were a very nice, tasty addition. I had to use canned baby mushrooms as I was all out of fresh, and it still turned out very nice indeed. Thanks!

DH really likes the steamer bags of mushrooms and peas in the frozen foods aisle, but this recipe blows those steamer bags out of the water! We sliced the garlic really thin and added a bit more peas. The butter could probably be cut down to 3 tablespoons, but other than that we are in love with this recipe!

My husband phones me at 4:00 and has invited friends over the watch the hockey game. I am scrambling for food, knowing that I had a bag of frozen peas in my freezer. I cut the recipe in half... but next time I will up the garlic to 4 cloves and keep everything else the same. Fast and simple....not bad for a recipe that worked in a pinch

If I could give this 10 stars I would! I LOVE this recipe!! I am a big fan of peas and usually make my mom's Parmesan pea recipe. I was looking for something a little different & came across this recipe. I love peas, mushrooms and garlic, so I thought this would be perfect! I have made it using all butter, half butter and half olive oil and all olive oil. I added bacon once, too. The peas were delicious every time! You can't go wrong with this recipe!

I have always enjoyed this combination of flavors. Make sure to use enough salt and pepper or the flavor will just not be at it's best.

I used this as a side for Bourbon Chicken and Peanutty Sesame Noodles.Since there were only three of us,I fixed just half of this and it halved very easily.I had to use drained canned mushrooms, and also used about a 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder. we really enjoyed the different taste. This recipe really brought the humble pea up to new level.Thank you for posting.

This was fantastic! I used a full 4 cloves of garlic because we love it, and then followed the recipe exactly. The ONLY change I might make to this is to use more mushrooms, because we love those too!

I was tired of the same old dishes and was looking for a simple vegetable side to make for thanksgiving. I wanted something with good flavor that was simple to make and had alot of eye appeal. So I tried this recipe. I used garlic powder instead of minced garlic but it still came out great. I would have never thought something this simple could be so good and the mushrooms help to make it interesting and it looks nice on the table. I would definately incorporate this recipe into our everyday meals. It was easy and delicious. Thanks for sharing!

I've made these peas many times and they are always well received. Sometimes I'll add some pearl onions too. Very good.

Been making peas this way for years! I usually serve them as a side for a pork or beef roast. Very yummy, and always a hit with company.

Very easy and tasted wonderful. I used fresh button mushrooms and 4 cloves of garlic. You are right about this being a dressed-up side dish because it looked very elegant. Went perfectly with the roast beef and steamed baby carrots for our family dinner. Thank you papergoddess. My family and I loved it.

So simple and so good. I'm not into frozen peas, I usually eat the canned kind instead, but this was good. I'm thinking that at Christmas maybe I could add a little chopped pimento to add some red to it. Thanks for posting. I'll make this one again.
