Sausage Stroganoff (Korv Stroganoff)

Posting for ZWT6 Scandinavia Region. This is from www.gretchencooks.com The original recipe calls for falukorv, a traditional Swedish sausage that is not exported to the U.S. Kielbasa may be as close as you can get.

Easy enough and pretty good, but there's definitely not a ton of flavor going on here. Also the sauce seemed pretty different to me than a stroganoff, but it wasn't bad. I would probably only give it 3 stars, but my one year old really enjoyed it, so it gets 4 stars.

Directions

  1. Slice sausage into strips (not dimes). In a skillet, brown over high heat. Add chopped onion and paprika to the skillet. Add tomato puree, mustard, bouillon cube, and water.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer and let simmer briefly over low heat.(about 30 minutes).
  3. Season with pepper and salt to taste.
  4. Garnish with sour cream just before serving.
  5. Serve with rice.
