I don't understand the negative reviews. Paired with a fresh baguette, this is a delicious stew, that is perfect for a simple, clean meal, that is ready to eat within an hour of walking in the door. I used about 10 oz of fresh spinach and about 8 oz of arugula. I also added about two teaspoons of herbs de Provence and a few dashes of cayenne. Not a recipe thats lights off fireworks, but a definite 5 stars for a cold evening. A definite keeper on my never-fail list of recipes.
This recipe helped me learn that I don't like broccoli rabe. It was on sale at the store and I decided to try it. It gave the whole dish a bitter taste, I would have rather used spinach. The dish was ok, but the tomatoes overwhelm everything else- it is a very plain tomato taste. We didn't keep the leftovers. I made this with kielbasa but it would have been better with italian sausage. I suggest adding some red pepper and italian seasonings or else use pre-seasoned tomatoes or perhaps marinara sauce instead of crushed.
I used spinach. This was a little bit too strong for me. I'll probably try it again, maybe with less spicey sausage and less tomatoes. babaxter
