I make this dish every year for our Christmas brunch. It truly is a family favorite. I make it on Christmas eve and then toss it in the oven about an hour before the family rolls in.

  1. Whisk egg in bowl; set aside.
  2. In a baking dish tear the bread
  3. Brown sausage; drain; add to bread.
  4. Pour egg over combination.
  5. Spread cheese on top.
  6. Cook at 350°F for 30 minutes.

Nice and easy. It was a good flavor but needed some seasoning which I added and it is definitely important to let the bread soak up the egg and milk mixture at least 8 hours before baking. Otherwise it doesn't work well. I also used a spicy sausage for some more flavor and a mix of cheeses, but overall it was good and very easy.
