I wanted to update my review to say that I have made this on the stovetop several times in the last two years, with half the sauerkraut called for, and sometimes other sausages. It is always delicious! I have prepared it in the crockpot a few times too. thanks for sharing!
Very simple fare that made the whole house smell wonderful all day! I cut all ingredients in half except for using a pound of turkey kielbasa. I used the juniper berries instead of the gin. Made for ZWT6 - team Unrulies Under the Influence! Thanks, teammate, for a great dinner last night!
Wonderful! The only thing about it that I didn't like was that there was more Kraut than there was Kielbasa. I was expecting more of a sandwich like filling and this wasn't it for the most part, the recipe is excellent though! DO NOT let me discourage you others. You WILL love this!
We love sauerkaurt and Kielbasa, this ia another yummy way to fix it, I made it like the recipe stated cuting the recipe down for 2 people. Cooked this on top of the stove since my crockpot is so large, this worked very well, I used 1/4 cup gin, 1 cup wine & 1 cup chicken broth, also added 2 small red potatoes cut in half. This way it made a complete dinner served with a side salad. DH loved it, we really liked the flavor. Thank you Ellie, I will be making this again , It is so easy & good.
