Saucy Cranberry Cake

An easy cake that can be served with or without the sauce. With the sauce it makes a sweet, rich dessert. Without the sauce, it makes a great breakfast cake, or afternoon snack.

With luck I have frozen cranberries t last me throughout the yeat, so I delved into my stash to make this great tasting, easily prepared cake! The only change I made was in the sauce, to which I added 2 tablespoons of finely chopped dried cranberries ~ What can I say but that I really love those tart red berries! your cake was wonderful & a great treat for just the 2 of us, although another time I MIGHT make it for company!   1. For the cake:.
  2. Mix all ingredients together.
  3. Spread evenly in a greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350 F for 20-25 minutes.
  4. For the sauce:.
  5. Mix all sauce ingredients together.
  6. Stir over medium heat until it reaches a full boil.
  7. Boil for three minutes.
  8. Serve while it's warm!
