Simple and stunning were my family and guest's reaction - a lovely recipe with GREAT punchy flavours! Made over the weekend to accompany some grilled steaks we had on the Barbeque - excellent flavours and texture - I LOVE wild rice! Made for ZWT4 - many thanks for posting a keeper! FT:-)

I used a wild rice box mix with this recipe. Found that my husband had frozen the bacon I just bought (why?!!) and so I sauteed the mushrooms in some bacon grease and then added some Canadian bacon to the pot. Skipped the green onions except for some green ends I had leftover from another recipe, only as a garnish. I did add in my seasoning packet from my box mix. I always love the smokiness of bacon and adore mushrooms so this was a hit with me. A bit decadent so i will save it for only once and awhile. made for my Babes for ZWT4 Canada.

Made & reviewed for ZWT 4 - Kumquat's Kookin' Kaboodles! This rice is so good! I used a vegetarian bacon for this & it worked really well. The whole family loved this with roast chicken! Thanks Julie for a delcious recipe :)

This is an excellent wild rice recipe. I did use a mixture of wild and whole grain brown rice. It did take forever to cook which was my fault (my stove's fault). I loved the mushrooms in the dish and the bacon and onions took it over the top. I will make this one again and make sure it stays at a simmer. This was prepared for ZWT4. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
