Santa Fe Mocha Cherry Balls

READY IN: 30mins

I'm not a maraschino cherry lover, but these Mocha Balls sound so festive that I have to give them a try during the holidays. Prep time does not include refrigeration time of 1-2 hours for the dough.

I used pecans and swapped Splenda for the sugar to end up with some very yummy cookie balls. Also should mention that I used dark cocoa for that extra bit of chocolate pleasure. Mine were ready to come out of the oven at 12/13 mins so keep an eye on them if your oven runs a bit hot like mine. Really scrumptious and way too easy to keep popping into your mouth for "just one more!".

Ingredients Nutrition

  1. Cream butter, sugar and vanilla in large bowl. In separate bowl, mix flour, cocoa, instant coffee and salt. Gradually pour in dry ingredients with sugar/butter mixture and mix well. Stir in nuts and cherries and shape into large ball. Chill for 1-2 hours before forming 1" balls and baking.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Form into 1-inch balls and place on cookie sheet. Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until cookies are light brown.
  3. Dust with powdered sugar while cookies are hot.
