Sand Art Cookies

"A friend of mine received this recipe and a jar containing all of the dry ingredients as a gift, and we made it together. It was a great gift - delicious and easy to make with the mix. So if you want to use this as a mix, just put all of the ingredients except for the butter and egg in layers in a jar and give it with the recipe. Otherwise, you can just enjoy them at home."

  1. Wonderfully flavored, and I loved the crunch/texture of the rice cereal and oats. I doubled this recipe to take to a study session and everyone loved them! Next time I would decrease the amount of M&Ms and chocolate chips (didn't think I would ever say that) because they kinda took over the dough and made it difficult to roll/bake in one piece. Otherwise, delightful recipe!

  2. These are just fabulous and turned out looking like I had purchased them from Mrs Field herself. I did not cook my first tray long enough but the second tray was just perfect - addictively so !!!!!

  3. I could see making several batches of these to the jar stage and displaying them as a warm decoration and a half-made snack. Our DS22 finished it off to cookies, and they were enjoyed and went quickly. The dough was a bit dry and crumbly and didn't form well, but it fused together during baking and left a colorful, playful, and tasty cookie.

  4. Wow! I love these cookies for so many reasons. They can be layered in a jar for a gift. They are supper easy to make, and not only look good but also taste supper good. Made these for DH’s work and they were a huge hit. A big thank you for the post.
