Yummy that was good. Added some chopped onions & celery. Also instead of cracker meal used italian bread crumbs. May add some salt & pepper next time.

I got a kick out of seeing a recipe that I also grew up with and I still make them. Little MsMartha commented that they were a little dry. I usually add a couple tablespoons of milk to mine and most of the time I do not drain the juice (only pick out the bones). Try one or both of these to help with the dryness.

I can't believe so many people had these as kids! They're great and I make them at least once every couple of months for my kids. Your recipe is no different than mine, but I serve with Mac n' Cheese (home made, no boxes), green beans or spinach.

Good old "stand by" recipe. I served these to my nephews with creamed peas and Biscuits. They loved them. I thought they were a bit bland but they were just exactly as I remembered them as a kid.

Excellent menu! I had the same thing when I was growing up. I find the patties to be a bit on the dry side so nowadays I make a lemon butter sauce to drizzle on top of them. BTW, R U from N.C.?
