Thank you for sharing this recipe! It was easy and had wonderful flavor. I had forgotten to purchase egg noodles at the grocery store and didn't have enough time to make my own pasta, so i served the steak and gravy over mashed potatoes instead. Very tasty!

Yummy!!!!! Very tasty and filling. I did not have a can of French Onion Soup so I used a dry pack of Lipton Onion Soup mix, mixed with 10 1/2 ounces of water.

This is the recipe I use. Everyone LOVES it. I usually double the "gravy" ingredients though. Dh likes to have tons to pour over mashed potatoes. I also use seasoned bread crumbs...otherwise the "steaks" are a little bland for our tastes.

I made this a couple times, and the patties always turn out nice, but the gravy is a little odd tasting. I finally just added a bit of minced onion and skipped the soup altogether. A packet of fat-free brown gravy mix mixed with 1-1/2 cups of water and a dash of worcestershire is all you need for a tasty sauce.

I didn't like this at all, but my husband did sort of, which is weird b/c I don't mind a strong-ish onion flavor, while he hates any onion flavor, and to me, to onion flavor was overpowering. But even the onion flavor competed with the ketchup flavor, so it basically ended up tasting like brown onion flavored ketchup, and was quite nasty, as another reviewer stated. I really thought the combo sounded like it would be one of those things that turns out great in the end, but, sadly, for me it did not. While my husband did eat it, neither one of us wants it again.

I enjoyed this recipe very much, I did however make a couple changes. I added an onion and some sliced mushrooms to the gravy. I also cut the amount of ketchup to about 1/4c to make it less tomatoey. All in all I would say it turned out wonderfully I had never made this dish before and I would say it is a keeper. Thank you for a wonderful base recipe! Next time I will make a double batch and test it out in the freezer.

I made this and I have to say I was not happy with the gravy at all. The amount of ketchup it asks for, a strange thing I thought, makes it way too sweet. I tried to fix it but it still tastes like ketchup flavored gravy...which is kind of nasty.

Very easy to make. I added mushrooms and onions to the gravy as we like it that way. This will be made again! Thanks Laura!

Great recipe! It was a big hit with our family! The only change I made was to substitute oats for the breadcrumbs - just personal preference - otherwise I made it exactly the same! We will definately be making this one again!!!!

These were pretty good. As we were eating it though, we realized we don't care as much for the ketchup gravy.

It turned out well. But our family likes the more beef gravy style salibury steak not the ketchup
