A quick after work meal! The horseradish gives the flavor a nice kick....I serve it over hot cooked noodles, but it is great just by itself!!!!

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup (undiluted)
  • 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard (spicy brown)
  • 1 egg (lightly beaten)
  • 14 cup dry breadcrumbs
  • 14 cup finely chopped onion
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 14 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 12 lbs ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 12 cup water


  1. Combine soup, mustard, Worcestershire and horseradish in a bowl and set aside.
  2. In another bowl, mix together egg, bread crumbs, onion, salt, pepper, 1/4 cup soup mixture and the ground beef.
  3. Form mixture into 4-6 patties.
  4. Brown patties in oil and drain off excess fat.
  5. Combine rest of the soup mixture with the 1/2 cup water and pour over the patties.
  6. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes (or until done) Remove patties and spoon remaining sauce over top.
  7. This is great over hot cooked noodles!

We really enjoyed this dish. The gravy was great on potatoes. I did use 1/2 bread crumbs and 1/2 parm. cheese as another poster. The patties were made in the morning and with the day to blend had good flavor. Thanks.

This is great comfort food! I used cube steak instead of making patties and breaded them in Italian bread crumbs and grated parmesan cheese. WIll make this again and again.

I made this on the fly - didn't have the cream of mush. soup, so I substituted Golden Onion dry soup with enough 1/2 & 1/2 to make it about 11oz and sadly I had no horseradish. My picky hubby enjoyed it and my 16 yo daughter LOVED it. I also enjoyed it VERY much. I would also like to note that it was even better the 2nd day reheated!! Thanks for such an easy and delicious recipe.
