Salad Supreme Seasoning

"This is a copycat recipe for Schilling Salad Supreme. Use the entire recipe if making Mysterygirl's Linguini Salad in place of the 1/2 a jar that is called for in the recipe. It would be good mixed with italian dressing on vegetables too."

Reviews

  1. Even though I left out the cheese this was a major yum! I made it to go with Mystergirl's Linguini's Salad (see my review for that one), but I think it would go well with any pasta salad, and even with a green salad. I plan to make up a large batch to use indiscriminately on everything! Thanks MG!

  2. I had this tonight on a rice salad and it was deeeelicious! Yum! Thanks for sharing!

  3. I use this for a lot of things, but our favorite is to mix it with biscuit mix and use it as a breading for fried zucchini. YUM!! This tastes exactly like the name brand, and I will never buy it again. Thanks so much for the recipe!!

  4. AWESOME!! I can't find Salad Supreme anywhere since COVID. This is so good and close to McCormick's version I may never buy it again! ??

  5. Salad Supreme Seasoning is wonderful on air-popped popcorn instead of butter! I was so excited to make my own with all organic ingredients. Instead of raw sesame seeds which do not have much flavor, I used roasted sesame seeds from the sushi department of the grocery store for a more intense flavor and aroma. After quadrupling the recipe, I poured Salad Supreme Seasoning in an empty parmesan cheese container (the cylinder shaped container with green lid has holes conveniently large enough for sesame seeds to sprinkle through). I recommend storing it in the refrigerator because the store-bought McCormick's version becomes rancid quickly (the sesame and poppy seeds easily go rancid at room temperature, and parmesan cheese should be refrigerated after opening). Thank you, Mystery Girl, for a supreme copycat recipe for my favorite seasoning!

Tweaks

  1. I wouldn’t use garlic powder because I find that the taste is to overpowering. Instead I would omit the salt and go with garlic salt. Otherwise my pasta salad tastes great. I also used white and black sesame seeds.
