originally this recipe was found by a roommate during the 70's from weight watchers only they used 10 drops of sugar substitute in place of the sugar This is a tomato salad dressing that my family likes
- 226.79 g tomato sauce
- 236.59 ml oil
- 118.29 ml apple cider vinegar
- 14.79 ml Worcestershire sauce
- 14.79 ml sugar
- 9.85 ml salt
- 2.46 ml paprika
- 2.46 ml dry mustard
- 2.46 ml garlic powder
- 2.46-4.92 ml onion salt or 2.46-4.92 ml onion powder
- lemon juice (optional)
- Place all ingredients in a container and shake before using.
Happy to have found this recipe - I'm sure it's the same as the old fashioned Russian Dressing recipe I mislaid - now I can stop searching through all those old cookbooks of mine! Love this Russian Dressing. Other than adding more sugar make it up as posted - it works just as well using Splenda and is among my dh's favourite. A nice Russian dressing. I felt the tomato and vinegar tastes were too strong for me, so I added extra sugar which did help. I also added a squeeze of lemon juice. Thanks for sharing!! Made for PAC Fall 2009. UPDATE: This was much better on day 2. . .back to increase the rating to a 5! I served it atop arugula, mushrooms and artichokes. Yum.
