Russian Luscious Strawberry Treat

"It's well known that Russians have some basic cooking rules: 1) Try to use sour cream everywhere you can, and 2) Never throw anything away. This is a combination recipe of those two rules, a no cook dessert (or even breakfast) which is super delicious, creating a really yummy sauce without cooking at all! I make this when I have leftover strawberries that are a bit soft but still edible. Kids go insane over this!"

directions

  • Mix all ingredients together well.
  • Wait a minute or so before serving so that the sour cream sauce will be slightly pinkish from the juice created by the strawberries and sugar.
  • Enjoy!
  • Note: This will NOT work with any other berry, so strawberries only!

  1. My Russian workmates loved it and you are correct. They love Sour Cream.

  2. Made this with 10 large, frozen strawberries (thawed), left out the sugar & topped it all with some granola cereal ~ OUTSTANDING, & a nice change from the usual bowl of cereal! Certainly want to keep this one! [Made & reviewed for my very first adoptee in this Spring's Pick-A-Chef]

  3. This is good. It tastes a lot like fruity yogurt. I followed the ingredients but I had to use frozen strawberries in sugar, so I didn't add any extra sugar. Made for Beverage Tag.
