Make sure you add the 1 cup sugar when you make this recipe. The sugar is listed in the ingredients, but it is not mentioned in the step by step directions.

We really liked these at my house. We had a tea party with them. The recipe on the DVD calls for unsalted butter--that's why it calls for as much salt as it does. If you are using salted butter, reduce or eliminate the salt. These dough is crumbly, but bakes together well. They are also pretty sweet so I think I will reduce the sugar next time or maybe use honey instead as that seems more Pooh-ish.

This recipe is fine, just be prepared for a crumbly mixture thats all. I just push them together on the tray rather than roll (the roughing-it-in-the-woods effect). Kids love them :)

This recipe is correct--you are just witnessing lawyers at work. I suspect there are no eggs in the recipe as in the DVD the people making the cookies say it is okay to lick your fingers while making the cookies. Raw eggs carry the threat of salmonella, so I am guessing that is why they aren't there. I have made these with and without the egg. With an egg results in a more standard product. As for the fact that Lumpy asks for biscuits, that is probably because he is an English heffalump, and in England, these sorts of treats are known as biscuits.
Either way you make them, kids love them. You can't go wrong, especially if you whip them up right after they watch the DVD.

This recipe is PERFECTLY FINE. You must put "Rumpledoodles" in their proper perspective. In the movie, Piglet and Heffalump are in Mr. Sanders' (Pooh's) house when Lumpy asks if there are any Rumpledoodles. "What's a Rumpledoodle?" asks Piglet. Lumpy asnwers: "It's a biscuit. My mommy makes them." When was the last time anyone used an egg in a biscuit recipe? This is fictional Moms! There are no chicken farms in the Hundred Acre Woods and Heffalump Mom's use ingredients common to kitchens in Heffalump Hollow! These are tasty little treats for kids. Mine are eating their's in the Heffalump Hollow of our backyard right now. (If you're worried about your kid's blood pressure, cut the salt down to 1/2 tsp.)

This recipe is just FINE! I was a little skeptical due to no egg but . . . I rolled balls in my hand before putting on a WELL greased cookie sheet. They came out fabulous. Happy Heffalump hunting!

This recipe is all wrong. There are no eggs to bind the dough. and there is WAY to much soda and salt. Try adding one egg and reduce the salt to 1/2 tsp and reduce the soada to 1tsp. Don't melt the butter, just add it too the sugar and mix like a regular cookie. Also add the raisins to the 2TBS boiling water and cook till it is all boiled down. (don't scorch the raisins on the bottom of the pan.)then add the raisins to the dough at the end. Try it this way and see if it is any better.

It's not your fault! I made these last night with a friend of mine. We couldn't help but notice that the batter didn't hold together real well, we had to squish it. And if you use non stick cookie sheets they DO NOT need to be greased, otherwise the cookies come out all flat. We also thought it was too salty, so in the future we will cut the amount of salt in half. We got the recipe off of the DVD and you have the ingredients all correct. So, it's not you, it's the recipe! Still tasty little tidbits, they just need a little tweaking!
