This drink reminds me of Yellow Bird. Almost the same taste but not the same color. I love it. From the Bartender's Guide
- 1 ounce white rum
- 1 ounce dark rum
- 1 ounce Kahlua
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons orange juice
- lime slice
- Vigorously shake the white rum, dark rum, Kahlua, lemon juice and orange juice over ice cubes in a shaker until well frosted.
- Strain into a chilled lowball glass. (I poured it with the ice).
- Decorate with the slice of lime.
Great drink! I really liked the Kahlua with the citrus juices. Smooth and not too sweet - thanks for sharing the recipe!
A friend gave me some homemade Kahlua and since I'm not much of a milk drinker I didn't want to make a White Russian type drink so went looking for options. The only thing I changed was to add a couple extra Tbsp of O.J. Very nice! Thanks for sharing Boomette!
Very good and very different. I've never paired Kahlua and fruit juice before. My guests really liked it. Thanks, Boomette! Made for 123HW.
