Great drink from my childhood! My brother and I got these (and Shirley Temples) as a treat when we went out to dinner since we didn't get cafinated drinks at home. My DSs loved it too! Made for PRMR.

Nice memories! I enjoyed the grenadine in it and drank it right up. Thanks! Made for your Superbowl football win! Congrats!

This is a huge hit!! My DS loved this and can't believe I made him a cherry soda!! He feels very special and thought it was very awesome I made him a fancy drink! I've never used grenadine before but know now I'll be using that little bottle up just for these special sodas! Thanks LM for a fun keeper to my cookbooks! I tagged this in honor of your Super Bowl win in the Football Pool 2010.

Wonderful! I bought a bottle of grenadine from the store a few weeks ago, and when I tasted it straight, it tasted like cough syrup. I thought it would affect the taste of my drinks. I was wrong! The grenadine almost has a fruity aftertaste that is perfect with ginger ale or cola. I use 1 cup of cola and a splash of grenadine. I didn't have any maraschino cherries or orange slices, but I did add a lemon slice. I will definitely make this again.
