So when I was a kid and my mom talked about Rote Grutze, I thought she meant something like red grits, or cream of wheat or something in the cereal category. I'm glad it's actually this yummy fruit jelly! I used frozen red raspberries from my garden. I will try with different fruit another time. Made for Aussie/Kiwi Make my Recipe Reunion, Nov. 2011

I just loved this recipe. Really easy to make and it turned out beautiful. I used strawberries and blackberries, so it came out sweet and tart. Too bad there aren't any leftovers! I think that's the only downside to it.

Very easy to make...I used raspberries and cranberries. Next time I think I will leave out the cranberries and use something else. Beautiful to look at. Made for Newest Zaar Tag.

What a wonderful way to dress up fresh fruit and oh so beautiful as well. Made with preaches and raspberries and served in martini glasses. Did not use the suggestion of adding ice cream or custard as we are watching our weight, how ever can tell both would be fantastic with this fruit. Thank You So Much for the post.

I appreciate attractive, easy make ahead recipes like this one. I made the full recipe but think it would feed a lot more than 8 people if served over ice cream I think more like 12 people so it would be a great way to extend amount of fresh fruit. I do wonder how long it keeps well in the refrigerator though? I used white grape juice (wish I had used something tarter like cranberry), the minimal amount of sugar, corn starch, and a combination of blueberries and raspberries. Thanks Lalaloula for sharing.
