Rose is the Herb of the Year for 2012. Bring the taste of roses into your glass with this drink!
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dried rose petals (to taste)
- 3⁄4 cup water
- ice cube
- 1⁄4 cup carbonated water
- sugar (optional)
- sliced fresh strawberries, for garnish
- Place the petals at the bottom of the teapot. Boil the water and pour the water into the teapot. Let the tea brew for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on your taste. Strain into a cup and cool to room temperature. Pour over ice in a tall glass and add the carbonated water. Stir the sugar into the tea, if desired, and garnish with sliced fresh strawberries.
i don't know if it's the recipe or my rosebuds. this was so weak before adding ice & soda water, i couldn't detect rose flavor at all. :( I added more rosebuds, which i purchased at a tea shop, to very little avail. i am so sad because i was so looking forward to using the roses and enjoying a tasty refreshing beverage. again, not sure if it's the recipe or my rosebuds. made for My 3 Chefs 6/12.
