A wow preserve from the Little Dutch area of central Michigan. Taken from the Michigan Dutch chapter of the United States Regional Cookbook, Culinary Arts Institute of Chicago, 1947. While this recipe is written in an old-fashioned way, it is perfectly safe if processed using modern methods. - Chop currants.
- Grind raisins and oranges (with peel) and add to currants.
- Weigh fruit and add an equal weight of sugar.
- Cook until thick, stirring frequently to prevent scorching.
- Fill jars and seal.
