The cocoa should be 6 T (3 oz). Even the restaurant recipe only calls for 6 oz. cocoa & that's for a half sheet cake. This recipe is cut in half for a 13x9. 1c cocoa is WAY too much. Likely why Jessica's cake didn't turn out.

Ive never had this at the restaurant, but fabulous recipe. I took it to a church potluck and everyone loved it. I did only use 1/2 cup of cocoa as suggested and it was lovely. Hot fudge everywhere!

Wow! I made this recipe yesterday, but only used 3/4 cup of cocoa and it was perfect. Thanks!

i made this cake and loved it!!! it tastes JUST like Macaroni Grill's, if not BETTER! i used sour cream instead of all of the mayonnaise because we were low on mayonnaise, but it came out great! great recipe!!! the icing is soo good!

I made this cake today as a thank you gift for my daughter's boyfriend. He loved it! He said that the texture of the cake was somewhat different than the one at Macaroni Grill but that he thinks he even likes it more; he also added that the ganache topping/fudge sauce was exactly like the restaurant version. He took it with him to some friend's house tonight to share with them. I'm curious to see if any makes it home! I followed this recipe exactly and my baking time was exactly 35 minutes for perfection! Thanks so much for posting. I have also uploaded two photos of the finished product which should appear on here shortly.

Sign in or create an accountI made this recipe for my husband for Valentine's day and I hate to say that it turned out awful. It wasn't sweet at all. I even added more sugar when I tasted the batter and it wasn't sweet. It turned out dry and I even cooked it for less time than the recipe called for. I would definitely suggest more sugar. Jessica
