Rolled Oats Cookies

This is just an old-fashioned recipe that I remember from my childhood, Mom used to make these all the time, these were my favorite!!

Just looking at the recipe I think the amount of baking soda should read 1/4 tsp, as opposed to 1/4 cup!!!!

Directions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add water and vanilla; mix well,
  2. Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture and mix well.
  3. Chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Shape into two 1 1/2-inch rolls; wrap tightly in wax paper. Chill for two hours or until firm.
  5. Cut into 1/2-inch slices and place 2-inches apart on greased baking sheets.
  6. Bake at 375F for 12 minutes or until browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
