I made this last night and our guests really enjoyed it. I made a couple changes: I doubled the cheese and used cheddar jack. I also bought four cheese & garlic croutons and crushed those for the topping as opposed to bread crumbs. DELICIOUS!!
Really? Add 1/3 c flour to a hot mix of cream and cream cheese? Talk about an invitation to lumpiness (and raw-flour flavor)! How 'bout melting some of that butter in a skillet and making a roux, and then whisking in the cream-cheese/cream/etc stuff bit by bit to avoid lumps. Also: you might put the oven temp for preheat first in the recipe, and write the ingredients in order. And what the heck does "Add heavy cream and whisk it inches" mean? The basic ideas of the recipe are good; the instructions...not so much. And the pasta comes out over-done: precooking it only partially would improve things a lot.
My goodness! I made this today, and i couldn't stop eating bowls of it before i served it. lol Best mac & cheese recipe! Only variations i made were cutting the Jalapeños to 1 cup, left out the breadcrumbs, and added more cheese. Yuuuummy!! ^_^
Good n' Spicy! Oh look, Sister#2 did it again...sneaked in a taste test and it looks like she's about to cry. Humphhh crying takes all the joy out of laughing at someone.
This is a family favorite! It is a must at every holiday my younger cousin requests a whole pan for himself! Always a big hit. I add more cheese whatever I have but Sharp cheddar or hot pepper cheese is a great addition!
Superb! I've been asked for the recipe twice already. I only used about 1/4 cup of jalapenos and that was plenty for us.
I love this recipe! I only used 1 cup of chopped jalapeño w/ 1/2 cup of juice and that had the right kick! It's so tasty!
I always did like Jimmy Buffet's Japalpeno Macaroni and cheese. Nice to find it on Zaar. Thanks for posting. I would give it five stars if I could figure out how.
I made this for a neighborhood cook out... it was a big hit! I recommend that you cut the amount of jalapenos that the recipe calls for back.
