  • Pierce a whole sweet onion in five or six places with a knife or a pointed chop stick.
  • Put it as is either in a 450 degree oven for 45 minutes (this method will caramelize)or in the microwave oven for 5 on high( this method is steamed but so quick).
  • Remove from oven; cut it in half or open it up.
  • Sprinkle it with grated cheese and olive oil or butter, herbs, salt and pepper.

  2. I love how these are cooked in the micro wave! Perfect for those hectic nights. I cut them into slices and sprinkles with breadcrumbs and cheese. Made for ZWT 3!
     
  3. I cooked this in the microwave and it took 7 1/2 minutes on mine to get it soft. 'Spiked' it with olive oil, lots of freshly-ground black pepper and parmesan - no need for salt. This is going to be made a lot - I'm mad about onions and it doesn't get easier than this recipe!
