A very interesting idea, especially if you are also using the oven for another dish that cooks at the same temperature. If you pre-bake a potato in the microwave on high for 4 minutes ( don't forget to punch a few holes in it ) the potato can be placed in the oven next to the beans and it will be done in the same amount of cooking time.
I had never cooked fresh green beans before this so I was nervous about making it. It was delicious! My SO inhaled them! He said that anything with bacon is good in his book. LOL. But the flavors work really well together and they're not overpowering. I made a double batch and had to cook them for about 10 minutes longer but they turned out fantastic! I will definitely make this again!
My DH was just diagnosed with Diabetes and was told he had to eat more vegetables. He actually ate 4-ounces of green beans which have never before touched his lips. This recipe was very tasty! I had to use reduced-fat beef broth instead. Thanks for posting!

This is a great side dish. My DH does not like onions, so I like that this recipe calls for onion powder. Bacon makes everything taste better!!
Very nice and tasty way to serve green beans. I think my main dish was so strong with flavor that these did not get the credit they deserve. I am looking forward to trying them again with a more subtle flavored main dish.
These were good and my guests enjoyed them, but I thought the broth made my fresh garden beans taste, just like canned beans. Matter of taste, but I don't like canned beans. I had a lot of liquid left also.
Thanks to all reviewers. Note this recipe was tested at high altitude. If you live below 3500 feet, you may indeed need to remove the lid earlier in the roasting process (or perhaps not even cover the dish at all) because the beans will cook faster at lower altitudes and the broth will not have time to fully evaporate.
These were very tasty, thanks! I think next time I'll take the lid off earlier, as we had to use a slotted spoon because of so much broth. If I kept cooking them until the broth evaporated, they would be way overcooked.
