Roasted Garlic

"I love garlic! It's so easy to roast, and there are so many different ways to do it. It's great when spread on crackers or bread, or mixed into hummus, pasta sauce or just about anything else!"

• Yields: 1 cup

• 1 medium head of garlic
• 2 tablespoons olive oil

directions

1. Method 1: Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (125 degrees C). Slice 1/4 inch off top of garlic bulb. Place in a small baking dish and drizzle with olive oil. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, until outside is lightly browned and garlic cloves are soft. When cool enough to touch, squeeze each clove to extract softened garlic.
2. Method 2: Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (125 degrees C). Peel each garlic clove. Place in a single layer in a small baking dish and drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 15 minutes, until garlic is soft.

I love roasted garlic, but 15 minutes does not work at all. Minimum 1/2 hour, better 45.

I think it's supposed to be 250 Celsius... that's about 485 Fahrenheit... It doesn't make sense to "roast" garlic at 250F... Even cookies "bake" at 350F.

Hmmm....something did not work for me. I followed method 1. After 20 minutes I tested with a little knife...no where near soft enough. So I baked another 10 minutes thinking that surely had to be enough. The cloves sqeezed out OK, but I thought that they were supposed to be really really soft. These were not. I still had to use a garlic press to mash them up.

Well, garlic is my favorite food. No offense, this was not good at all. Mine were rock hard! I will not try this again. Try your own recipes before you post them!!!! I cannot stress that enough.....
