  1. Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add sugar and bring to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally.
  3. Cook for 3 minutes then stir in the vanilla and salt until dissolved.
  4. Remove from heat and let stand for 1 minute. Whisk in cream until sauce is smooth.
