Rich Breadmaker Dough

"This is a lovely, rich white bread dough that kids love! It can be used to make rolls, cinnamon rolls or bread. I usually cut the sugar down a little. Listen to machine when it begins to knead and adjust water if necessary."

 1. I wanted to update my review for this recipe. I made these in my bread machine for Christmas day breakfast. They were even more awesome than those I made in the stand mixer! (First picture is from stand mixer, second photo is from bread machine). Our climate is humid so I always reduce the liquid in any recipe by 2 tablespoons. Yesterday (12/25/17), the humidity in the kitchen was at 36 percent (heat was running). I used one cup of bottled water and kept everything the same. The dough was absolutely perfect! It was slightly sticky, but rolled out very easily. They raised up beautifully and were soft and fluffy. I baked them at 350 degrees (gas oven) for 25 minutes. This is the best sweet dough I have ever made! Amanda, thanks for the great recipe! It is a treasure!!

 2. This was my first homemade loaf ever and I loved it. I am totally making it again, can't wait to try it for cinnabuns - I think it will be perfect for it. I've been worried about making heavy dense bread but this was light and fluffy and yes the kids love it too!

 3. This bread is wonderful! I cut back on the sugar, (1 1/2 tsp) but otherwise made according to the recipe. Honestly, I made it as rolls baked in the oven and they were so good, DH and I forgot all about dinner. We were full of these rolls! A great post and a recipe I will use many times@ Thanks!

I live in a rural area 30 minutes from the City of Adelaide. I have 3 children and spend an inordinate amount of time chasing around after them! I enjoy cooking and reading about all kinds of food (but perhaps not vegan - never really did get the hang of that), although driving the kids here and there cramps up my cooking time and motivation some days. I love cookbooks and have recently started to collect very old cookbooks, mostly from the 19th century. I love all books actually and, if I could get away with it, I would spend half the day with my nose in a book. I also adore where we live, which is in the Adelaide hills. We live on top of a hill with gorgeous views out over the vineyards and across valleys. It is nice to be so close to the vines because I also have a fondness for sauvignon blanc, a lot of which is grown here!
