great recipe and I love the reviews as well. I added about a cup of raisins just near the end. I did use a bit less sugar which is nice, but I think I could have used the full 1/2 cup and it would have been great as well. Depends on your tastes. thanks!!!
Yum! My first rice pudding and it turned out great. I boiled the rice, salt & water for about 15min uncovered until it was thick and the water was gone. I added 4 C milk & 3/4 cup sugar and stirred at a boil for 30 min and turned off the heat and added 1 tsp vanilla and a shake of cinnamon. It was too sweet for me so I'll reduce sugar next time and maybe lessen the vanilla but my boyfriend and son loved it how I made it. Thanks for the recipe Cheryl.
Very yummy, perfect consistency. I added the zest of one orange to the rice mixture after adding the milk and also increased the sugar to 3/4 cup and vanilla to 1 tsp. I did find that I needed to cook it for close to 50 minutes, but that is probably b/c I have an electric stove that is not true to temp. Thank you! Next time I will add some chocolate to this!!!
awesome pudding. I also increased sugar to 3/4 cup. The second time I made it I added 1/4 cup dried coconut and that was fab too. Only thing is my cooking time keeps coming up much shorter. (like 20 minutes) Maybe the starch in my rice, but it is still gorgeous!
I love this rice pudding! I used vanilla soy milk and did a little less than four cups of soy milk and made a full cup of rice. It made a great vegan dessert!
I never thought my DH would like rice pudding but he loved it, which was a great relief for me. This recipe was great. Followed Cindy Scheck's advice and raised the sugar and added raisins. I also forgot I was out of Vanilla so I used vanilla sugar instead. It was great.
This was amazing! I added almond flavoring along with extra vanilla, did another with chocolate and raspberries, and one with coconut extract. They all worked out very well... this is a great recipe to play around with add-ins!
Just Awesome! Better than the store bought that I had been indulging in. And easy, too! I will treasure this one always!
