Perfect, and exactly what I was craving. I really only use my microwave to re-heat things. This recipe has made me rethink that.I did make a couple substitutions. I used spaghetti instead of orzo and I didn't have any broth, so I used half a package of onion soup mix and added the garlic powder and some Penzy's pasta sprinkle. So, good! Thanks for posting!

This was a very simple recipe to follow with ingredients I had in the pantry. I like that I can control the sodium. The timing was exactly right. As was mentioned, I left the rice in the microwave while I finished the rest of dinner and fluffed it just before serving. It stayed hot and was ready when I was. Thanks for a go to side dish.

Delicious and easy. Served for lunch with hotdogs and steamed broccoli.

Incredibly easy to prepare, worked perfectly as per recipe, and delicious to boot! Another good one for my student daughters when they are cooking for themselves! I used butter instead of margarine, and I used the orzo. Thank you for this hidden gem! :D

Love, love, love this recipe. Thank you so much for posting it! I made this gluten free for me, and was so unbelievably happy to have a comfort food back. This is now going in my personal cookbook!

Just like my mom used to make on the stove top (from scratch, not out of a box). When I make it like she did, it always comes out soggy, but making it in the microwave is foolproof. I used homemade chicken stock and skipped the parsley. Thank you soo much for posting this. Made for Alphabet Soup game.

This recipe is so simple and so tasty. And the best is that it's cooked in the microwave. I like that. I added 5 minutes to the cooking time. I used butter instead of margarine. And used orzo. thanks Jackieblue. Made for Alphabet chef game

Never tried Rice a Roni - so can't compare between this recipe and the real thing... but loved this!! Loved the mix of orzo and rice!! Used vegetable broth instead of chicken broth. Made for Zaar Tag! Thanks Jackie! :)
