- 4 cups water
- 1⁄2 lb rhubarb, sliced
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- lemon zest
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup lemon juice
directions
- Add water, rhubarb, sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla to a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in 1 cup of strawberries and bring to a boil again. Let the mixture cool. Strain through a sieve. Stir in the remaining cup of sliced strawberries and a cup of lemon juice. Pour over ice and enjoy.

I have recently realized that I don't like to cook. I don't dislike cooking, but rather feel neutral about the task. I think because I am a good cook, people think I really enjoy cooking. I do love to eat and my husband isn't a good cook so somebody has got to do it.
