This is very similar to rice pudding. We eat it as a meal topped with cinnamon and sugar, and accompaned by canned fruit and applesauce. I love madarine oranges and dh likes pears. This is great on those cold winter days, esp when it is rainy out. Got this recipe from my MIL who is originally from Bavaria, Germany.
- Combine all ingredients and cook on low/medium until rice is done, and mixture is thick.
- Then quickly add the egg, and mix well.
- Immdiately serve with cinnamon/sugar, applesauce and canned fruit.
